Intralight’s Host Server

Intralight Host Server is the central database for all users. It is a cluster of servers that hosts the users private database, provides high-speed accessibility via the web, database maintenance and high-level security.  All data is mirrored full time by additional hard drives and servers, so that if one went down, another would continue providing accessibility.  Also, we have strategically positioned other backup servers off-site, at a net hosting facility.  This facility holds very highly secure and cooled server rooms and strictly controlled access to those rooms.  Only those registered as hierarchy on Intralight’s tech team can have access to these server rooms.  All client data is secured on and off-site in case of an accident at Intralight’s office.  And, Intralight off-site is backed up with a diesel generator in case of a power grid disaster, allowing Intralight clients to maintain accessibility 24x7.  The server room is also monitored with a Smartslot Measure.  This device will page the server administrator(s) if the temperature every goes over a certain degree mark.

Data Warehousing

Native data warehousing - archiving is not necessary for up to thousands of stores.  We have conducted tests that show an average convenience store operation could run hundreds of stores for hundreds of years, without seeing any slow down/change.

Network Architecture

As diagramed below, Fibernet’s internal architecture is built on a 100% Redundant Cisco network.  The heart of the network is built on 2 Cisco 7513 routers where our connections from Sprint, Utah REP, XO, ELI, and Qwest are terminated.  Our collocation distribution is over two 5512 Cisco Catalyst switches.

·          45,000 square foot facility

·          10Mb switched Ethernet connection based on 100% Cisco N+1 BGP backbone

·          Redundant back-end Internet providers: ELI, Qwest, AT&T, XO, MCI WorldCom

·          24/7 access/up-time monitoring, backup rollover generator and onsite tech support

·          Stand-by diesel generators and real-time UPS (Uninterrupted Power System)

·         Raised flooring (cable & cooling distribution)

·         Protected dedicated power. (Diesel Generator Backup)

·         Three directed fiber providers.

·         Data center amenities through out building

·         Zone 4 earthquake rating

·         Discounted PRI (telecommunication costs)

·         10/100Mb Port connection with no transport fees (bandwidth on demand)

·         Shared break room and landscaped common areas

Nethosting.com is designed to Zone 4 earthquake specifications.  All utilities, including water pipes, are incased in the inner cement core of the building and each level of the center is actually designed as a seamless cement slab with drainage systems to move water in the event of a fire with out damage to other location of the center.  After much research on fire suppression system options, Nethosting was equipped with a double-interlock, pre-action, dry pipe system that deploys on a localized basis or on a specific zone basis.   In comparison to traditional gas systems, we found this system greatly minimize potential damage in the event of a fire.

In addition to structural integrity, Nethosting offers a secure environment with proximity card access, motion detection, closed circuit video surveillance, and monitoring to alert us in the event our raised flooring is breached.  Other facets of our security include a 100% Cisco N+1 redundant BGP backbone over three major Fibernet providers (XO Communications, ELI, and Qwest) with two of providers providing dual entry into our facility.  Our BGP bandwidth includes Sprint, Utah Rep, XO, ELI, and Qwest.  Finally, nethosting.com is outfitted with true-online UPS (150KVA) and rollover diesel generator (400KVA) backup power.
